Joan Duperly
Adrienne
Joan Duperly, a former Miss Jamaica, was born and educated
in Kingston.Ms. Duperly has a vision that a
Sustainable Community Development discussion encompassing the Portland Parish
Blue Lagoon region and adjacent communities can begin a process of renewal and
improved quality of life for all residents. She is committed to the conduct of
a
Blue
Lagoon
Summit
in
2010 to begin this process. Ms. Duperly presented a concept of the possibilities
for
Blue
Lagoon
Heritage
and Sustainable Development concepts at the
International Development Summer Congress of OIDA at Laurentian University in
Sudbury,
Ontario, on June 23, 2020. She believes preserving the Blue Lagoon as a National
Heritage Site can be the catalyst for sustainably developing
this rural coastal community.
Ms.
Duperly’s passion for environmental, economical,
educational and social equity among rural coastal communities
led to development of community based women’s organization
ORBA (Ocho Rios Braiders Association) in 1987 under the
auspices of Jamaica Tourist Board. In 1985 she founded
Carib Art Treasures and Visual Art Guild in St. Mary,
to accommodate groups of Intuitive Artists and Craft
Producers develop sustainable marketable skills. Her
musical folk play “The Dream Mountain” was
produced to aid Mona Rehabilitation Centre under the
Patronage of Sir John & Lady Golding sponsored by
The Friends of the Handicapped and United nations Women’s
League was awarded Critic’s accolades, this work
continues. She taught Drama briefly at Columbus Prep
School in St. Ann’s Bay, a member of St. Ann’s
Bay Library Services, Ocho Rios Branch Library and Ocho
Rios Performing Arts and Visual Council Committees. In
Ocho Rios Ms. Duperly organised various Community workshops
some sponsored by Jamaica Commission for UNESCO/ UNESCO
Clubs in Schools. From 1992 until 2006 she closely collaborated
with Sr. Mary Stephanie Grey FM, Director of Holy Childhood
High School on a number of projects in Kingston and Boscabel,
becoming a Franciscan Missionary Associate. Ms. Duperly’s
second home is Canada where her children and grandchildren
reside. Her profit based entrepreneurial and culture
based product development and marketing skills as Pier
21 Museum founding Gift Shop Manager, Buyer, Product
and Cruise Market Developer have been bench-marked by
Pier 21 Non- Profit Society Executive Board of Directors. Adrienne

Beverly Duperly Boos
Jamaican
Beverly Duperly Boos is an active part of the
living framework of some of the brightest minds and
efforts
on “doing business for good” with Master’s
Certificates in Sustainable Business Development
and Sustainable Intra/Entrepreneurship from the
Bainbridge Graduate Institute. Currently Bev
is an ALB candidate
at Harvard University with a concentration in
the Social
Sciences. She is working with the Harvard Graduate
School of Education as part of the Distributed
Collaborative Learning Community, a research
team studying
technology for 21c learning,
Bev
is one of a select, global network of Climate Project
presenters
trained by the Honorable Al Gore,
and is conversant on the latest climate change science
and related business leadership perspectives. In
digital imagery, Bev specializes in photographing “essence”—from
the most disenfranchised by conflict and poverty—to
Prime Minister and Pope. Bev’s photographic
work in Vietnam, Israel-Palestine and the Caribbean
has been used as a foundation for traveling exhibits
and educational curricula. Through a focus on “Education
through the Arts,” Bev has designed community
forums on topical, intergenerational issues—including
sustainability, climate change, war & conflict—to

R. Warren Flint, Ph.D.
Dr.
R. Warren Flint is an internationally-recognized sustainability
specialist and change agent for communities
wanting to improve or reinvent themselves and for organizations
wanting guidance on overall sustainable practices that
are sound, effective, and successful. Dr. Flint has run
his own consulting business, Five
E's Unlimited,
for the past 12 years. Through his career Warren has
exhibited a unique set of skills, being able to ground
his sustainable community development facilitation talent
in 25 years of content expertise as a university researcher
and teacher in environmental studies, ecological systems,
and sustainability science. He has provided leadership
for many projects focused upon multi-discipline, international
inquiries into scientific, technological, and societal
problems related to the management and remediation of
large ecosystems to help communities, organizations,
and governments achieve sustainability goals. He brings
a distinctive set of experiences to his consulting, speaking,
and academic activities. He is able to solve complex
problems in natural resources management by enabling
individuals, communities, and public sector groups to
pursue sustainable development strategies targeting integrated
change toward sound economic health, social equity, and
ecological improvement in transformative, transparent,
