FOR THE CASCADE BIOREGION and Beyond

for a Better Future

"Call for emergence of a human sustainable lifestyle is not out of guilt, shame, judgment, or sacrifice – it's about a strategic, enlightened, reduction in use of resources, and a corresponding, deliberate increase in efficiency, quality, equity, stewardship, trust, and teamwork."

Who Are We

Sustainability Now! is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) corporation, organized to promote community improvement, ecosystem integrity, education, awareness, scientific, and charitable functions related to sustainable development. Guided by its vision SN encourages society to collectively embrace the environmental, cultural, and economic significance of “Salmon Nation,”

In pursuing its mission, SN directs its work to support communities and other groups in the Cascade Bioregion, and beyond, to define their core values, design strategies, and implement actions that will lead them on the path toward a more sustainable future, guided by the holistic, integrative goals of “Salmon Nation.”

Sustainability Now! exists to promote rapid improvement in a community’s socio-economic and environmental well-being by advancing a comprehensive, adaptive ecosystem management approach to sustainable development. Our projects target public awareness and action, supported by science-based information, for setting policy, making decisions, and generally solving problems in a regional context. We advance social learning and help local, grassroots organizations feel inspired and empowered to take responsibility to act in ways that increase the well-being of all life by addressing the harmonious solution of economic, social, and ecological concerns. We convene public, private sector, and NGO leadership to engage a broadly shared civic passion for sustainability that allows people to take charge of their own destiny and achieve sustainability in ways that they, themselves identify – action initiated, driven, and concluded by the community. Our work assists communities and organizations to advance their shared vision and desires in order to achieve comprehensive, sustainable development that will contribute to the overall well-being of ecosystems and humans within the Cascade Bioregion, and beyond.
